Foster Care Requirements

Please carefully read each paragraph below and acknowledge your acceptance by signing and dating at the end.

System for Transportation and Veterinary Services

I possess reliable means of transportation and maintain a flexible schedule, ensuring prompt access to veterinary care in case of emergencies. I am willing to work with Animal Liberation Veterinary Services.

Care and Maintenance for Pets

I recognize the significance of socialization and hygiene in caring for my foster animals, alongside providing food and safety. It's crucial for fosters to acclimate to handling, grooming, and exposure to everyday stimuli like household noises. This exposure enhances their adaptability and prospects for adoption. Shy or less socialized pets may require additional attention, interaction, outings, and walks to aid their adjustment.

Pet Health

I acknowledge the possibility of needing to visit the vet for regular health check-ups, vaccinations, or to collect necessary supplies and medications. Please note: Animal Liberation Rescue endeavors to accommodate your schedule, but there may be occasions when an animal requires urgent attention on a specific day.

Living Environment for Foster Animals

I understand that a foster's living space must meet the specific requirements of the animal I am fostering, not only to keep their environment clean but also to maintain their health. This includes providing a proper diet, suitable living space, and enriching activities for their well-being.

Home and Property

I acknowledge that fostering entails a significant amount of cleanup, and there is a remote possibility of consequential damages occurring.

Illness and Additional Pets

I'm aware that certain illnesses can spread from foster animals to my own pets or myself. Many of the pets Animal Liberation Rescue deals with comes from environments where they may have been exposed to diseases, fungi, and parasites. Some fosters may carry illnesses without showing symptoms or lack vaccinations, and their immune systems may be weak. To ensure safety, it's advisable not to foster if household members or pets have compromised immune systems, and to keep personal pets separated from fosters to prevent unintentional transmission.

Time Commitment

I commit to fostering for the full duration as agreed upon upon accepting the foster. Please note: unforeseen circumstances may arise, so I agree to promptly notify you if I need to return a foster, allowing for a replacement to be arranged.

Communication with our Rescue

I will promptly inform Animal Liberation Rescue of any incidents concerning my foster, such as illness, injury, loss, theft, or any other unforeseen circumstances.

Important Consideration

I understand that due to the nature of foster animals, there is a possibility that my foster may pass away.

Adoption

I acknowledge that at the conclusion of my fostering commitment, my foster will be adopted. While it may be bittersweet, I trust Animal Liberation Rescue to diligently seek out the ideal, loving home for my foster.

Acknowledgement and Acceptance

I have read, understand and agree to the terms specified above.
